Rules & Regulations

Under the perpetual care system of Laurel Oaks Memorial Park (“Laurel Oaks”), proper care of graves and the grounds is assured without cost or trouble to lot owners. Individuals are requested to report any oversight promptly. All individuals entering Laurel Oaks are required to observe the following rules.

Laurel Oaks is a private Memorial Park and the right is reserved to refuse admittance or to evict visitors anytime.

RULES & REGULATIONS

Rules and Regulations adopted by the Board of Directors of Laurel Oaks Memorial Park are subject to change without notice.
Revised August 1, 2023

  1. All graves are to be kept level and removal of any grass is prohibited. No raised mounds or trenches will be permitted.
  2. Laurel Oaks Memorial Park is not responsible for lost, broken, misplaced or stolen vases or other items.
  3. Perpetual care does not cover damage to cameos, and Laurel Oaks is not responsible for any damage to markers or merchandise from an outside vendor placed in the cemetery.
  4. No objects, including, but not limited to, toys, statues, figurines, crosses, shells, trinkets, boxes, candles, pinwheels, plastic fences, glass objects, pictures (accept approved cameos), stickers, balloons, confetti, solar lights, drugs, drug paraphernalia, pornography, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products or any type of temporary flower holders are permitted to be placed or remain on the grave, memorial marker, niche or crypt fronts. All such items will be discarded without reimbursement and at no cost to Laurel Oaks.
  5. Drinking, fighting, camping, partying, etc. will not be allowed; local law enforcement will be notified immediately to remove such individuals from the cemetery.
  6. No objects are permitted on any of the trees.
  7. Lot Owners who have not purchased an approved marker with a vase are permitted to put flowers on the grave during holidays. They will be removed soon after the holiday (See Holiday Schedule). Laurel Oaks Memorial Park assumes no responsibility or cost for the loss, damage or discarding of the flowers.
  8. Flowers may be placed on the grave in an approved vase obtainable from Laurel Oaks at a nominal cost. Flowers placed in this cemetery regulation vase will remain in the vase. Any other objects, including, but not limited to, pinwheels, wind chimes, birdhouses, crosses, luminaries, etc. will be removed.
  9. Picking flowers, wild or cultivated, breaking or injuring trees, plants, shrubs, or any other property in the cemetery is strictly prohibited.
  10. Laurel Oaks Memorial Park reserves the right to enter all lots, without notice to lot owners, for the purpose of reseeding grass or to remove any unauthorized plantings or objects, or to remove planting which has become detrimental, diseased, overgrown, or unsightly.
  11. Cars and other vehicles must remain on the cemetery roads and are not permitted on the grassy areas of the cemetery, or access roads used for maintenance purposes. The speed limit in the cemetery is 10 miles per hour and must be observed at all times. Radios must be turned down or off.
  12. Jogging, bicycling, and pets are prohibited in the cemetery. Park benches, statues, building equipment, garbage containers, and permanent fixtures are property of Laurel Oaks and should not be tampered with.
  13. Children must be under the supervision of an adult at all times while visiting in the cemetery. Guests are expected to be respectful of all graves in the cemetery and to refrain from walking on the graves.
  14. Only markers that have been approved by the Laurel Oaks may be placed on the graves. Laurel Oaks reserves the right to set all markers. No personal foot markers, statues, benches or other furniture or objects are allowed. Niche plaques will only be installed by Laurel Oaks.
  15. Intentional damage to cemetery property or anything within the cemetery is punishable by law.
  16. Cameos are fragile porcelain photographs that adhere to memorial markers. The cameo may crack, fade, or chip after being exposed to the outside elements and routine maintenance of the memorial park. Laurel Oaks is not responsible for damage or aging of cameos.
  17. Large parties/gatherings with loud music, personal tents and/or food are not permitted; individuals will be asked to leave immediately, and local law enforcement will be notified.
  18. Balloons & stickers of any type are not permitted to be left on monuments of any type. Material of balloons & sticker adhesives may cause discoloration damage to monuments.

Laurel Oaks Memorial Park is designed and maintained for the living as well as our beloved deceased. The cooperation of all those whose loved ones are here will help make your cemetery more beautiful with the passing of time. We respectfully ask that you observe the rules and regulations of the park and in this way help us to maintain the serenity of the park and the dignity of our deceased.

Visiting Hours
Are from 7:00 A.M. to Sunset daily. Remaining in the cemetery after the park closes is considered trespassing. Visitors are reminded that Laurel Oaks is a sacred place and should be treated as such. Slow speed, quiet and reverence must be observed. Service tents are not allowed to be moved around the park for special gatherings.

Firearms
All weapons, including guns and knives, are prohibited in the cemetery at all times. Violators will be prosecuted and will be assessed a $500.00 fine by Laurel Oak for each violation and payable immediately by the violator.

Fire Hazards
Please be advised that anything that can create a fire is not allowed on the cemetery grounds. This includes fireworks, candles, sparklers, lanterns, and any other combustible material. Violators will be prosecuted and will be assessed a $500.00 fine by Laurel Oaks for each violation and payable immediately by the violator.

Laurel Oaks Memorial Park is not responsible for any damages to vehicles on property.
Laurel Oaks Memorial Park is not responsible for any containers or objects placed at any interment location.

In courtesy to others and to assist with park maintenance, we ask that all trash be removed and placed in the trash cans located throughout the park. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our park clean.

These Rules and Regulations shall govern the conduct of everyone who visits Laurel Oak.


CLEAN-UP SCHEDULE

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (excluding scheduled holidays) a thorough clean-up will take place of all graves and surrounding areas. All items not in an approved vase will be thrown away.

Holiday Decorations: May be placed on the grave 5 days before the holiday and will be removed beginning 3 days after the holiday. This will give you time to pick up what you might wish to keep.

EXCEPTIONS: Halloween, All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day will be considered as an extended holiday. Decorations may be placed 7 days prior and will be removed 7 days after. All Souls day. Christmas and New Year’s will also be considered as an extended holiday. Decorations may be placed 7 days prior to Christmas and removed 7 days after New Year’s.

Birthdays and Anniversaries: Items may be placed on the grave 3 days before the event and will be removed the following day. For Birthdays and Anniversaries, you must obtain a flag from the office before placing any decorations.

Laurel Oaks Memorial Park will discard unapproved items that have been removed, at no cost or liability to Laurel Oaks.
